The applicant of the Bachelor Degree in Philosophy must have the following characteristics:

Basic knowledge about Humanities, Philosophy, as well as oral and written form.

 

APTITUDES:

The capacity to propose, analyse and solve problems.

Logical reasoning and argumentation.

Creativity and innovation when proposing ideas.

Oral and written expression.

Be interested about a reality from a scientific and philosophic point of view.

GRADUATED PROFILE

The graduate of Philosophy will be able to promote environments for dialogue and promote tolerance, on the realities of the social environment. At the same time, he or she will be able to generate creative ideas from philosophy. They will be able to think and analyse about the immediate and medium contexts related to the area. They will be able to intervene in the improvement of concrete problems through the deployment of strategies and technologies.

 

The graduated will be able to interpret the historical evolution from the philosophical perspective of the fundamental problems. Then, it will obtain an integrated knowledge of the human being with attitudes of tolerance in front of the diversity of thought.

 

The graduated will be able to develop philosophical ideas through dialectical reflection, creating new routes of thought before different worldviews. at the same time, will have a synthetic vision to obtain an integral sense of knowledge, which interrelates the structures of scientific and humanistic knowledge (by using a critical thinking.)

 

He or she will be able to design and implement projects which promote philosophical reflection, increase the debate of ideas to develop critical, progressive and tolerant attitudes.

 

 

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM

The Bachelor Degree in Philosophy is a program of good quality, accredited by Comités Interinstitucionales para la Evaluación de la Educación Superior, A.C (CIEES, for its acronym in Spanish.) These Committees are nine collegial bodies, composed of academic peers of the highest level of Higher Education institutions throughout the country. Its main mission is to evaluate functions and academic programs that are given in the educational institutions which request it.  Also, to make specific recommendations for its improvement, contained in the evaluation reports, which are given to the managers of the institutions.

 

The Bachelor Degree in Philosophy was created in 1986, in Tijuana, due to the need to prepare professionals with a solid academic formation to carry out teaching and research activities. This Bachelor Degree provides to the students authors and works of the main philosophical schools. This in order to develop an analytical and critical rationality to conceptualize a contemporary reality (theoretically and discursively.)
